Black and White with a Touch of Colour

I had the privilege of being involved in 3 Benefit concerts for the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society. The music was all original songs and lyrics composed by Kenneth Norman Johnson who lives on the coast near my parents. I soloed as the female vocalist, there was a male vocalist, 2 dancers, an orchestra and Ken playing the piano. It was a wonderful time of music and laughter and exposure as most of us as new to the professional performance scene on the coast. These are the links to the songs from the concert that I have posted on Soundcloud. (hope they work for you...let me know if they don't) Enjoy listening. I sing in Serenade, E'er So True, and Wonder, but please listen to the others as well as they are all phenominal.

Fountain Lake

South of Lillooet is a beautiful little lake hidded away on a long, narrow, curvy, out of the way road called Fountain Lake. We went camping there with friends and spent a few days fishing, relaxing and enjoying nature.

Lucy Dog

Last summer my parents decided that they were ready to get a new dog. A Police friend of ours told Dad that he should look at getting a Britney. After spending some time on the internet and time with our friend's dog, Annie, Dad was hooked. We were getting a Britney. After finding a breeder and reserving one of the female pups, Lucy was born Dec 6, 2010. For the next two months the days were filled with discussions about Lucy, how she was doing, how she was growing, and updates from the breeder.

In Feb 5th, we made the trek to Abbotsford to pick Lucy up. The breeder was bringing her and a few other pups from Genelle BC to deliver them. Lucy was right out on the edge of the tailgate ready to meet us. The first month we lived in the kitchen with her, getting to know her and her routines and needs.

Lucy is now a rambuxious, full of energy, full of love, raring to go, calm only when she sleeps, seven month old. This past week we went camping and she loved it. We had one whole side of the lake to ourselves and she was able to run free for the four days. We discovered a meadow about 20 min away from our site that was heaven for Lucy. She was able to chase birds and butterflies, run amongst the long grass and swim to her hearts content. She has never run so fast or swam so far. Life will never be the same again, but we are loving (most) every moment.

Deer

We often have dear wandering through our yard, our garden, and our backyard. We have had deer born on the property next to ours and been able to see them a few minutes after they were born. We have also had the Daddy deer around as well.

I love this next one with the doe looking over the buck's shoulder.

This is one of this year's babies, just a couple hours old.
